Two features for every platform: upload to your Immich account from a network share or from the device, and video playback that checks what the device decodes before choosing the original or the transcoded stream.
- Upload to Immich from a network share.: In a share folder, long press a photo or video (or use Select), tick what you want or select the whole folder, then Upload to Immich.
- Upload from the device, tracked.: Photos and videos of albums that are not in the backup selection can be sent from the Library tab (On this device, an album, select, Upload to Immich) and are now counted as backed up afterwards (they used to be offered again).
- Video source chosen from what the device decodes.: Before playing an original, the app reads its codec, size and frame rate and asks the hardware decoders; when the original exceeds them (for example H.264 above 4096x2304 on a Quest 3), the server's transcoded stream plays instead, with a message.
- Video decoders of this device.: Settings, Advanced: the list of the hardware and software decoders with their largest frame size and frame rate, and a Copy button for bug reports.
