Smoother video from network shares, video thumbnails in the share browser, and the audio track of your choice.
- Smooth playback from SMB shares.: The share is read in large blocks, the file stays open between reads, up to 16 MB are read ahead of the player, a second SMB connection is reserved for the video being played so thumbnails no longer stall it, and the native players keep a larger buffer for streamed media.
- Video thumbnails in the share browser.: Video tiles show a frame of the video (taken at 1 s through the local bridge, scaled, cached on the device up to 200 MB), loaded after the photo thumbnails of the visible tiles, two at a time; a tile that cannot be read keeps its placeholder.
- Audio track selection.: Videos with several audio tracks (languages, commentary) get an "Audio track" button in the 360° and Spatial players on Android and iOS; the chosen language is remembered and preferred next time.
